ADVANCED PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The student will:

apply the fundamental movement skills in individual and dual sports, outdoor
education, self-defense, and dance.

develop a practice plan for himself/herself, taking into consideration his/her
stage of development.

create a variety of offensive/defensive strategies for a new individual/dual
game.

analyze movement performance using application of levers to learn or improve a
movement skill.

analyze the mechanical principles involved in a fitness workout.
-
analyze individual/dual performance using scientific principles of movement in
order to improve skills.

assess personal fitness.
-
apply principles of training to monitor and adjust activity levels to meet
individual fitness needs.

set goals for improvement or maintenance of personal fitness.

understand the relationship between nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
